Aussie Barbecue Salad

Barbecue season is finally here in Australia! A typical Aussie barbecue consists of meat, meat and more meat (sometimes of the shrimp/prawn variety) but it doesn't have to be this way. Heck, you can even make a grilled salad on your barbecue! And that's just what I did.

Take some onion, capsicum, corn on the cob and green beans and chuck them on the preheated barbie. Maybe gracefully chuck them... Like... Delicately throw them on.

Next add your meat. This can be sausages which are available from most supermarkets in vegetarian options and low calorie options. Or you could add some chicken breast, heck it's your salad. You can add whatever you want!

I went with sausages because they were on special and it just felt like that kind of day. I could have gone the healthier route but it's highly unlikely that one sausage is going to kill you. Especially the better quality ones. Those ultra cheap ones give me the heebie jeebies.

Toss them around on the barbecue for a few minutes until everything is nice and cooked and then everything is ready to be served!

This is a nice way to get veggies in at a party and would be a great Australia Day dish!
